We are pleased to announce three keynotes for our annual online conference Fame and Fortune to be held 25 – 26 April 2026. Registrations to attend are now open!
The conference will feature the following keynotes:
- Associate Professor Lisa Bailey, University of Auckland (New Zealand), on ‘The Fama and Fortuna of Balthild, Slave Queen’.
- Professor Jane Hwang, University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA), on ‘Fortune’s Empire: The Global Rise of Fortune on the Early Modern English Stage’.
- Professor Carl Wennerlind, Barnard College, Columbia University (USA), on ‘Bees, Yahoos and Houyhnhms: Mandeville and Swift on the Morality of Capitalism’.

Registration fees directly contribute towards the operational costs of Ceræ and ensure our digital future as an independent, open-access journal.
